Why English?

My journey with the English language started when I was 13 years old and met Harry Potter movies. I was and still am obsessed with them. They were something new for me: magic, another life, another country.
I was watching the movies with subtitles, and then I got more interested about the language that they speak, about England and so on. And that time our schools didn’t have English language classes, so my father decided to buy me some self learning materials, although I didn’t have someone to help me to explain the things I was very motivated to learn as much as I can on my own.

How interesting is that when you are a kid, you are more motivated and don’t give up easily, and also I didn’t have social media to distract me, or I wasn’t able to see people saying I learned that in 3 months or I did that in 5 months. I was just enjoying learning new things. These days we see a lot of people on social media saying how fast they were able to do things, and this can make you lose motivation or think that you are dumb if you didn’t reach the same things for same amount of time. And mostly people saying that kind of things are not telling the whole truth. So If you want to learn new language you have to find something that you like and interested in to make your process more enjoyable, that can be learning words or sentences about your hobbies or about the book you love. Sometimes following the patterns from the books are not that useful and can make you lose motivation, that’s why while you learn, you can also do research how to talk about the things you love in that language you are learning. Even if it’s slow, do it and learn as much as you can.
